Hello Spring! Now is the time to press the reset button, make small changes, and get your body and mind in optimal condition for the sunny days ahead.
Most of us spend the majority of our days and weeks sitting in an office, hibernating from the cold. This can be a challenge to maintaining productivity and healthy lifestyle. But by making a few adjustments, you can create a routine that promotes a fresh mindset at work, increase your wellbeing, reduce stress and leave you with more energy.
Our team at Oomple has put together a few tips to help you amp up your workplace wellness this season.
Spring-clean your office space
An organized workspace promotes creativity, reduces stress and improves efficiency. Messy desks can be distracting and take away from your work. By spending time to organize your space, you’ll have a better chance of leaving in the evening thinking about the activities you enjoy, instead of worrying about the work that didn’t get done.
Spring clean your a healthy routine
The longer days of late spring are a great reason to implement a walk into your daily routine. Taking time away from your desk and office clears your mind and makes you more efficient in your tasks. At Oomple, we enjoy taking our lunch break going for walks around the area, taking a fitness class, or making a point to get outside and enjoy the fresh air.
Oomple TIP from Community Manager, Kristen: Become a morning person
Studies have shown that people who make the most of their mornings are happier, exercise more frequently, carry less stress and perform better in work and school. To get your morning off to the best start, try implementing a routine that you love to follow and easy to implement. Give yourself enough time to eat a healthy breakfast, ease into the day with a positive and grateful mind that you are given.
Spring clean your resume
Your resume is a bit like your closet: It pays to go through it once a year, clean out the old, and make room for the new. The first step is to remove the ancient history from your resume. As a rule, you should only show the most recent 10 to 15 years of your career history and only include the experience relevant to the positions to which you are applying. The next step is to identify what’s missing. What are the requirements for your target job—and where are the gaps on your resume? More importantly, do you actually possess those skills, knowledge, and experiences that aren’t coming across?
